Kithurst Tree #9
Kithurst Tree #9
This is an infra-red photograph taken at Kithurst on the South Downs in Sussex. This is my favourite oak tree!
Kithurst Tree is a long running and on-going infra red photography project to document this solitary tree in its surroundings. I try to return to the oak tree once a month to document the changes to it and the surrounding environment. To me the tree represents strength and tenacity and I often wonder how and why it was allowed to prosper by the farmer when it would surely be easier to work the land without it there.
